On one side a website and a domain
are almost a must nowadays. But for us it was only stress: we had
95% of people bugging us with insurances and lawsuits, including
former employers (who were never mentioned on it in the first place)
and a local German radio
station claiming abuse of their brand which were (and unluckily
still are - the German government doesn't allow me a name change)
also the initials of the site's owner. Since then we are also
forbidden to have a contact page with our address, phone, fax or
email on it. The reason for that nonsense, as a lawyer explained:
PR customers of "Westdeutscher Rundfunk" could decide
to change to us as long as contact information is available. My
personal opinion however is, that the totally invented and exaggerated
blame of people mixing us up with them would fall apart if we were
still allowed to say who we are on our webpage.
As under German law we are still required
to have a contact information on the page but are not allowed to
use our own address, here's the address of Westdeutscher Rundfunk:
Westdeutscher Rundfunk
Pressestelle Rüdiger

No, they do not have
an email address for contacting them and do not want to use one
either. They just do not want us to use email.
If you write them, be
aware that they will refuse to forward anything to us as cutting
us off information from our families and business partners and sucking
in all the emails was the reason for the court case in the first
place. Also they will not understand English or at least pretend
not to. If you want to reach us, you may still always leave a message
in our guestbook
- as that is public and not confidential like email Westdeutscher
Rundfunk cannot forbid it.
